South Africa destination wedding photographer

I am a lucky wedding photographer.

I know I am one of the lucky few that gets to travel the world and take photos of people's adventures! We are off to South Africa to photograph a wedding as well as spend Christmas with my family.

We will miss our people back here in Winnipeg - but man - I am excited to spend the holiday season with my family for a change. Sun, sea and sweet sweet wine - we are coming for ya!

Have a great Christmas Winnipeg!  I am on e-mail and can do online meeting for those beautiful people getting engaged in December.

Back in January for the Wonderful Wedding Show.

Amanda + Cameron's wedding with some photos at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights

My last wedding of the year was with Amanda and Cameron, and although it was freezing cold, we had a day without snow!

We started the day at Amanda's folks place. I immediately felt at home and could feel that the 3 of them were very close. I was laughing so much when everyone was scurrying around and I look over and there is Amanda in her PJ's playing with the cat... Cool and calm as can be.

We had a chance to pop into the CMHR, and although it was rushed, we got some amazing photos!! Love that place and can't wait to shoot more weddings there.

It was the perfect ending to a busy year for us, thank you Amanda and Cameron. Your love and appreciation for what I do did not go unnoticed.

Please enjoy a few of my favourite frames.

Miranda + Kevin's Wedding at Qualico Family Centre

Two kind, hardworking, generous people asked me to document their wedding day.

It remains so amazing to observe and document the little dynamics between a couple, their family and friends and how all of these groups join to celebrate with one another. Weddings are kinda like Mumford and Sons' songs - they start slow, pick up speed and bring the house down at the end.

We started with a first look in Assiniboine Park - the wind was insanely cold - but luckily everyone had hair.  If you know me you will know that was a joke... Kevin mentioned it during our screening, and I thought it as well on the day - the trees in Assiniboine Park looked so amazing. All empty, stark but the perfect frame for the moment they saw each other for the first time that day.

We also stopped in at Red River College, where Kevin went to school.  This time of the year you simply have to do more inside than outside.

I am happy to share a few of my favourites from the day.
